Bring it On. (Phlog.)

The same thing happens every year.

The summer wears on and our social calendar whips into a veritable frenzy. Every weekend is booked with traveling, tournaments, or races. And now, there’s the whole Heidi-shooting-weddings thing to contend with.

And, um, that pesky business I went and started.

What I’m trying to say is that we’re charging full steam ahead and kicking August’s ass so hard it doesn’t even know what hit it.

If pictures are worth a thousand words then I’m about to bust out a 6,000 word manifesto on what’s what with recent rumblings:

The work studio is finally ours! We picked up the keys today. It was shiny and empty. We’re moving in this week.

We have a view of Portland’s Eastside industrial warehouse district… and a little sliver of downtown, too. These windows are almost 100 years old!

The freight elevator – this is the main elevator for getting up to our 5th floor location. I think the elevator is almost 100 years old, too.

We were at Crater Lake this past weekend where I met up with some old internet buddies and shot a renegade (read: not officially sanctioned by Crater Lake officials) wedding.
Holy crap! Crater Lake is freaking gorgeous.

This is how I look most of the time these days.

And this is a bonus shot. Sal’s racing season is actually tapering down for the moment (but cyclocross is right around the corner!!). This is a pre-TT shot I love of Sal’s teammate, Scott (right side of picture). I love how huge he is on a bike (and the fact that he routinely destroys people – even the little, skinny whippet boys).
